Since the dash cam footage release of Sandra Bland’s arrest in Waller County, Texas on Tuesday, many are questioning whether the video was edited due to the appearance of strange loops and inconsistencies throughout, the New York Daily News reports.

Bland’s traffic stop by Texas trooper Brian Encinia, who pulled her over on July 10 for failure to signal, began with Encinia demanding the 28-year-old put out her cigarette. After she refuses, the trooper instructs Bland to exit the vehicle. Tension rises and at one point during their verbal stand-off, Encinia threatens Bland with a Taser, telling her he will “light [her] up.”

While most of the following physical confrontation is off police dash camera, a pedestrian’s footage shows Bland face down on the ground. Encinia tells a responding officer that he tried to calm the 28-year-old, adding that she kicked him during the encounter.

“I’m going to yank you out of here,” Encinia says.

“OK, you going to yank me out of my car?” Bland replies. “OK. All right. Let’s do this.”

The trooper pulls what appeared to be a stun gun.

“I will light you up!” he shouted before she finally steps into the road.

But suspicions about the footage being edited were raised by reporters and Selma director Ava DuVernay. In the 52-minute long video, the 25:05 mark shows a man stepping out of a truck and walking around Bland’s car twice.

Other moments show glitches and a white car appearing, then disappearing.

DuVernay took to Twitter to express her suspicions:

Texas authorities are reportedly looking into the possibility of edits. Bland was jailed for alleged assault on Encinia. Three days later, she was discovered dead in her jail cell. Earlier this week, Waller County prosecutors announced the case would be looked at as a murder probe.

Bland’s family also hired an independent medical examiner to investigate her death; police claim she committed suicide during her incarceration.
