George Zimmerman, the former neighborhood watchman who was acquitted in the murder of Trayvon Martin in 2013, was injured in a shooting in Lake Mary, Florida on Monday afternoon, WESH 2 Newsreports.
Zimmerman suffered a minor gunshot wound, police say.
The shooting involved two men and happened on Lake Mary Boulevard, police said.
This is Zimmerman’s second time in headlines this year — in January he was accused of assaulting his girlfriend. No criminal charges were filed.
After the fatal shooting of Martin, Zimmerman had numerous run-ins with the law that included a number of traffic violations and a case of alleged assault between he and ex-wife Shelley Zimmerman.
