Mexican TV reporter Ines Sainz was covering the New York Jets practice on Saturday, and when she went into the locker room felt as if all the eyes were on her.  After a practice which seemed like all the balls were being thrown her way, Sainz just wanted an interview with Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez.

In an interview after the inncodent, Sainz said that she decided not to pay attention, but after a few minutes of waiting for Mr. Sanchez she described what happened, “But I believe that the rest of the media start to hear the different kind of things that I didn’t hear. And sometime in a minute, a colleague said, ‘Come with me, and I’m so sorry…It’s terrible. I feel sorry for you.'”  Although it is unclear what actually happened in the locker room, team officials, as well as officials from the NFL are looking into the matter.

On Sunday the Jets released a statement saying, “We will continue to work with the league to gather the facts and take any appropriate steps necessary to maintain a respectful environment for the media.”  In addition to this statement, the team owner Woody Johnson called Sainz personally to reiterate that all members of the Jets are to act professionally and always treat members of the media with courtesy regardless of their gender.

“I think that its not good that these kinds of things happen and it mustn’t happen anymore,” Sainz told reporters on Monday.  Despite all of this she could still be found on the Jets sideline Monday night for their season opening game against the Baltimore Ravens.
