Tracee Ellis Ross spoke to over 800 women Saturday and inspired us with powerful messages wrapped in humor. Two words stand out from her amazing collection of antecdotes that she shared with us: “Gentle, Gentle”.
She urged us to take time with ourselves and be gentle as she illustrated that advice with a demonstration of how she used to take a shower and how she takes one now. I think all of us related to Tracee when she asked how many of us get into the shower and ravage our skin with an urgency by not taking the time to be “gentle” with ourselves. Our end goal is to get it done and get out- her advice was to slow down and appreciate that moment with ourselves and to be gentle.
