Fall has just about arrived and right on schedule, it’s that time of year when all of our favorite singers unite to pay homage to the leaders of the entertainment world for one night’s salute featuring an “Evening of Stars” presented by the UNCF.

This year, they’ll all stop for a moment to sing their hearts out to the tune of hits from Chaka Khan’s catalog of vibrant R&B, smooth soul, funked out jazz and danceable chart-topping music that makes her every bit of the legend she really is.

Fantasia, Ledisi and Anthony Hamilton, all of whom are considered R&B/soul music’s talented tenth, are scheduled to perform at the tribute, which is also being filmed live for television on Saturday, September 25th in Los Angeles. Other special guests include R&B newcomer Melanie Fiona accompanied by industry legends Anita Baker and Stevie Wonder and the veteran on deck Bettye Lavette.

Ginuwine, El DeBarge plus soul sister Angie Stone and Milini Khan are also expected to take the stage at this year’s “Evening of Stars.”

For additional details on the show, the UNCF itself or to find out how and where you can send in your donation, feel free to visit the UNCF online at UNCF.org. Visit Singersroom.com for the full story.

What do you think of the lineup? What songs are you expecting to hear each of the performers take on?

Who’s going to bring the funk? Will Ledisi straight kill it on “I’m Every Woman?” Will Fantasia scream us into the abyss on “Tell Me Somethin’ Good?” Will Anita Baker keep it smooth and try out her rendition of “My Funny Valentine?”
