Bryan Craig (pictured), a guidance counselor at Rich Central High School in Olympia Fields, Ill., was placed on paid administrative leave on Friday, while school authorities ponder how to best handle the controversy that has swirled around a very racy book Craig wrote about sex, women, and relationships, reports The Herald News.
Craig — who also coached the school’s varsity girls basketball program since 2008 — penned the book “It’s Her Fault.” The self-help book that was published last month includes graphic descriptions of Craig’s opinions about the vaginal differences between women of different ethnicities. It also includes “pearls of wisdom” such as:
“The easiest kill for a man is through the young lady with low self-esteem. Of course some will feel this is taking advantage, and yes it is. The ultimate goal for a man is to do all he can to eventually be able to commit and submit to a woman’s power.
In another passage, Craig — who also moonlights as a bouncer at a Chicago strip club — discusses his favorite part of the female anatomy:
Even though I feel I’m beyond the highest caliber of men, I still have a weakness for cleavage.
According to NBC Chicago, District 227 school officials released a statement following Craig’s departure, announcing they would decide on which course of action to take after the situation has been assessed.
Our teachers and counselors are role models for our students and must comport their actions to this expectation at all times. We understand that our community rightly expects the highest level of professionalism and sound judgment from the people they entrust with their children’s each day. In the coming days, we will be assessing the impact of Mr. Craig’s actions on our students, our parents, our community and the School District.
Meanwhile, the book, which is available on the Amazon for $11.95, has received mixed reviews.
