David Boone made news last week when his story about going from homeless to Harvard made national headlines. The good news is that this young man decided that even though he was homeless, recruited by gangs, had no family structure or little support system that wouldn’t define him or determine his future.
That’s the good news.
The troubling part of this story is that I couldn’t find a photo of David associated with any of the many stories reprinted about his hard work and success.
Had David Boone mugged, car-jacked, robbed or killed someone, his photo would have been huge and in color.
