A government panel’s controversial recommendation is challenging the old adage, “Better safe than sorry.”
The suggestion: Ending a routine prostate cancer screening called PSA for most men.
The recommendation comes from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force — which sets U.S. cancer screening policy. Reuters news wire called the reaction “fast and furious” — with advocates of screening saying the procedure saves lives.
