Yesterday we shared a story about the University of Texas and their school newspaper, The Daily Texan which published an editorial cartoon that showed a mother telling the story of a “sweet, innocent, colored boy killed by the big bad white man”.  The cartoonist was fired and the University of Texas’ newspaper editorial board apologized for the use of language and depiction of Trayvon Martin in the cartoon.

Today the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is under fire for their university’s newspaper, The Daily Tar Heel, and their editorial cartoon depicting george Zimmerman saying “This wasn’t about race. I shot because I felt threatened. Skittles are full of high fructose corn syrup.
