You’ve heard of Occupy Cincinnati, right? Another group has been formed out of the movement, called “Occupy The Hood“. The mission is dedicated toward, “the liberation, benefit and improvement of the quality of life of disenfranchised People of Color” according to their website.

The movement has spread around the nation quickly with chapters in New York, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Seattle, and Cleveland.

The local chapter is headed by Robert Pace, a former Cincinnati Black Panther Party member and former vice president of the Avondale Community Council.

According to a press release, the rally will be at MLK Park, Monday at 3:30, at the corner of Reading and Burton in Avondale. People will share their foreclosure stories and present their list of demands aimed to remedy the problem. Occupy The Hood already has a three point list of demands, which include a six-month moratorium on foreclosures, new government revenue streams to protect foreclosed families, and judges to intervene in mortgage modification. After the rally, the group will march through Avondale to raise awareness.
