Evelyn Lauder died Saturday in New York City at the age of 75. She passed due to complications of ovarian cancer in her home with her family by her side.

Evelyn was married to Leonard Lauder, the son of Estee and Joseph Lauder, who co-founded the cosmetics company. She joined the family business and became senior corporate vice president and head of fragrance development worldwide.

In 1989, Evelyn learned she had breast cancer. She used her influence in the beauty and cosmetics world and launched the Pink Ribbon Campaign to bring awareness to breast cancer. She later founded the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in 1993, which has raised more than $350 million for breast cancer research.
