Could Carson Palmer play hockey for the Cincinnati Cyclones? The team thinks so. Yesterday, the team announced they gave an open-invitation for the quarterback to try out for the team.

The tryouts take place tonight at 7 pm at U.S. Bank arena, and are open to the public to watch. According to the team’s website, they hope Palmer will “continue his professional sports career in Cincinnati by losing the cleats and lacing up the skates this season.”

Cyclones coach, Jarrod Skalde, is pretty open to the idea of Carson joining the team. He said,

“To be able to have an athlete such as Carson Palmer would be a major addition to this year’s club.Palmer’s leadership and command of a game in the offensive zone should help our squad this season. His skating ability, stick handling skills, and slapshot have yet to be seen but growing up in the hockey hotbed of Fresno, California…one can only think he’s a natural.”
