This is one I’ve personally been waiting for and it looks like we’re finally going to see a shift in TV programming with actress Tracee Ellis Ross back on our household television screens really soon.

According to recent reports, BET has stepped its game up and recruited some great talent including former “Girlfriends” star Tracee Ellis Ross. The beautiful and multi-talented actress is set to produce and star in a new, original and scripted comedy pilot tentatively entitled “Reed Between the Lines.”

Our girl Tracee Ellis Ross will play a busy psychiatrist struggling to balance her career with her chaotic home life as a wife and mother in her role as Dr. Carla Reed. It already sounds like this should be an interesting setup, but I wonder who else will star alongside Ellis Ross.

She’s currently serving as co-executive producer with Arthur Harris. The pilot for the new comedy was written by Kellie Griffin and production will reportedly begin in an Atlanta studio next week on August 11th.

I’m smiling from ear to ear because I am a definite fan of Tracee Ellis Ross. Her range, delivery and acting chops have always been superb to me, but when it comes to comedy, the girl can go.

She kept us cracking up with her frenzied antics on “Girlfriends” and even stole the show as a breakthrough star on MTV’s “The Lyricist Lounge” mixing music, dramatic sketches and comedic skits. Now that she’s back, let’s hope she’s going to be around for a long time to keep us laughing and uplifted.
