Last night’s celebration musical for Cincinnati’s own Dr. Abraham Isaac Jacob Swanson XII proved that even in the time of sorrow there’s still room to rejoice. Held at Dr. Swanson’s home base, the Bibleway Church of God in Christ (COGIC) in Evanston, the celebration musical kicked off with a bang as literally hundreds upon hundreds of family, friends, special guests as well as local/national gospel recording artists gathered to honor the life, legacy and over 65 years of ministry and servitude of Dr. Swanson.
With over 20 musical tribute performances plus moments of reflection from special guests such as Judge Nadine Allen, Courtis Fuller (Channel 5, news anchor), our own P. Ann Everson-Price and so many others, the night was filled with over four hours of high praise, worship and the energy of a Dr. Swanson live broadcast just like old times.
