[VIDEO] T.O. + Ocho Cinco = Cincinnati Bengals?

So it looks like the Cincinnati Bengals are in fact interested in signing Wide Receiver, Terrell Owens. With the recent pick ups of Pac Man Jones, Antonio Bryant adding on to the power players such as Chad OchoCinco and Carson Palmer, the Bengals will definitely be a force to reckon with this NFL Season. Check out the video and details on T.O.’s possible fate.

Cincinnati Bengals president Mike Brown confirmed his team’s interest in free-agent receiverTerrell Owens on Monday.

“It’s up to him,” Brown said of Owens, according to Bengals.com. “We are talking to him. We have some interest.”

Sources had told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen that the Rams also were interested in signing Owens, however the team decided Monday against adding Owens, sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Brown made his comments before the Bengals’ training camp media luncheon.

He said that quarterback Carson Palmer, who has been working with Owens in California, reported that the receiver “can still run,” according to the website.

Brown said that he was impressed with Owens’ attitude when the team visited with him in March.

“I found him polite, nothing that has been said about him,” Brown said, according to Bengals.com. “We like him as a player.”

Owens also has another strong supporter in Chad Ochocinco, his close friend and reality TV colleague. The two have helped each other promote their respective shows on VH1.

The Bengals signed free-agent receiver Antonio Bryant during the offseason but Bryant has struggled so far. That has motivated the Bengals to take another look at Owens, a team source told Schefter.

The 36-year-old Owens, a six-time Pro Bowler, had a pedestrian season with the Buffalo Bills last season, catching 55 passes for 829 yards and five touchdowns.

Information from ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen and ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter was used in this report.

After the altercation, Benson continued to shove other employees as he was escorted out of the bar according to the details given in an arrest affidavit. The affidavit also includes reports that Benson spit blood from his injured lip at a bar employee.

New research shows the possibility of brain damage with athletes like Chris Henry, but did it have anything to do with his untimely death? You tell us.

In the aftermath of the death of the late Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry, additional reports and research this week indicate brain damage at the time of his death.

Multiple hits to the head – possibly from his high impact career in football – have revealed the athlete’s condition as a form of degenerative brain damage called chronic traumatic encephalopathy.

Just last December, Chris Henry died after reportedly “falling out or jumping out” of the back of a pickup truck just moments after a confrontation with his fiancee.

This new research doesn’t give way however to complete details on whether or not the discovery means anything in the investigation of Henry’s death.

Check out the additional details of the research and how the information impacts other athletes by visiting WCPO.com today.

How do you all feel Cincinnati? Do you think something else is brewing just beneath the surface or do you believe the research is totally unrelated to the investigation of Henry’s untimely death?

As a Rhodes Scholar, Myron Rolle brings a unique skill set to the NFL Draft process, but it may be those outlier standards that hurt him on selection day. The thinking, according to ESPN, is that NFL teams want to draft guys who need to play football and want to study nothing more than a playbook — not guys like Rolle, who wants to become a doctor and enjoys studying the latest developments in stem cell research.

Considering the changes a team might face with a new coach, the Colts have had a smooth transition. When Tony Dungy retired, Caldwell brought along a host of characteristics and principles that were similar to those of his former boss.

via: Monique Walker, Boston.com

Listen to Indianapolis Colts coach Jim Caldwell long enough and you will hear a reference to a verse or proverb. He will bypass his own words for a line he believes sums up his point better, and credit the author or origin.

Caldwell leans on passages and phrases because he says he “is not an individual gifted with golden-throated oratory.’’ Yet he has gained the attention of an undivided audience in his players, who may disagree with his self-assessment.

Whatever Caldwell might not be saying he is showing in his first season leading the Colts. After joining the franchise in 2002 as quarterbacks coach, Caldwell has progressed through the system, and on Sunday he will lead the Colts back to the Super Bowl for the second time in four years. When his team takes the field at Sun Life Stadium, he could become just the third rookie head coach to lead a team to a Super Bowl championship.

Considering the changes a team might face with a new coach, the Colts have had a smooth transition. When Tony Dungy retired, Caldwell brought along a host of characteristics and principles that were similar to those of his former boss. As a member of Dungy’s staff, Caldwell said he learned many lessons, and meshed those ideas with others he picked up from coaching positions that date to 1977.

Yet his relationship with Dungy is a special one that continues. From their faith to their family to their coaching style, Caldwell said, Dungy was an example to him.

“He paved the way for me,’’ Caldwell said. “Obviously, because we do kind of have the same coaching style, we’re not guys that scream and yell. I may tend to raise my voice a little louder, but it’s more to encourage, more so than anything else and for instruction.

“His demeanor and the way he handled the situations during the course of the game has made it possible for guys like me to coach and for people not to consider our style of coaching as a negative because he won with it and won consistently. We certainly are thankful to him for that.’’

But that relationship did not stop Caldwell from making changes to the Colts once he took over. Defensive coordinator Ron Meeks and special teams coach Russ Purnell were replaced with Larry Coyer and Ray Rychleski. Coyer’s approach was aggressive and showcased the Colts’ speed. Rychleski led his group to improved results.

“[Caldwell] did a great job of tweaking this here and there,’’ tight end Dallas Clark said. “We had success the past few years, so he didn’t really want to go crazy and change a lot of things.

The year seems to have been filled with an inordinate amount of high-profile deaths -- some even on the same day. Tell us who's death surprised you the most.

VIA: CNN.com

(CNN) — The recent passing of actress Brittany Murphy adds another high-profile name to the list of those who have died in 2009.

The year seems to have been filled with an inordinate amount of high-profile deaths — some even on the same day.

Among those who passed: Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Natasha Richardson, Bea Arthur, Dom DeLuise, Karl Malden, David Carradine, Patrick Swayze, John Hughes, Ed McMahon, Walter Cronkite and Don Hewitt.

Authors John Updike, Frank McCourt and Dominick Dunne died, as did blues legend Koko Taylor, Ventures guitarist Bob Bogle, Mary Travers of Peter, Paul & Mary, guitar innovator Les Paul and Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein.

In sports, NFL players Steve McNair and Chris Henry died as did veteran basketball coach Chuck Daly. The politcal world mourned the loss of Sen. Edward Kennedy, and former U.S. Housing Secretary Jack Kemp.

Even celebrity pitch personalities weren’t immune as 2009 also saw the passing of Oxiclean pitchman Billy Mays and Gidget, the chihuahua best known for hawking Taco Bell.

But was 2009 any more notable for celebrity deaths than other years? Or, in our hyper-caffeinated, overly Twittered culture, is there simply more awareness?

Adam Bernstein, editor for The Washington Post’s obituary section, believes the latter. He said he believes the perception of the mass mortality of stars is driven by the overwhelming amount of attention paid to the deaths of even minor celebrities.

“[Brittany Murphy] is far from the most accomplished of actresses, but because she has attracted a following — mostly from younger people who are probably shocked, of course, at her death at the age of 32 — it becomes a big deal online,” he said. “And that drives a lot of attention from newspapers, including ours, which went nuts with her death.”

Social networking sites like Twitter are helping to drive the interest, Bernstein said, as people tweet about it and “the immediacy of the death suddenly becomes hot ratings online.”

Bernstein also dismisses the so-called “rule of three,” the old guideline that high-profile deaths come in that grouping. That’s an urban legend, he said, an idea that arises from humans’ determination to seek patterns in randomness.

“The Washington Post writes about nearly everyone who dies in the D.C. area and no one seems to get really alarmed when three Army colonels go in a week,” he said. “People like to spot trends in the chaos of life and death is no different.”

In the end — literally, in this case — all those of us who watch and wait can do is draw a little dark humor from the inevitable. That seemed particularly true in 2009, when levity seemed to be the only response to what, at times, seemed a never-ending stream of obituaries.

As The New York Times’ David Carr pointed out on Twitter, noting that Dunne’s death was being overshadowed by Ted Kennedy’s (which happened the same day), “Dominick Dunne wld be pissed he died on same day as Ted Kennedy and had to share … a piece of work, but fun as hell.”

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police released the 911 calls from the Chris Henry accident scene Wednesday. They shed some new light on the details surrounding the incident and the moments immediately after Henry would be severely injured.

The first call is from a driver who was behind the pick up truck that Henry’s fiancee was driving.

“There’s a black man with no shirt on and he has his arm in a cast,” the first caller told 911 dispatchers. “He’s beating on the back of this truck window. I don’t know if he’s trying to break in, but something just looks crazy.

The second call comes after Henry had fallen out of the back of the truck. He immediately starts by saying “I need an ambulance now. There’s somebody laying in the road.”

“He looks dead there’s no movement,” the male caller said.

“There’s a crowd of people around him right now. He’s definitely unconscious… not awake.”
