On August 5, 2011, the Tom Joyner Back to School event comes back to Cincinnati!

Join us from 6AM until 2PM at Taft Information Technology High School at 420 Ezzard Charles, Cincinnati Ohio, 45202.

The Tom Joyner Morning Show will be broadcasting live from 6AM – 10AM, The Lincoln Ware Show from 1230AM WDBZ will broadcast live from 10AM – 2PM, and EJ Greig from 101.1 The WIZ will broadcast live from 10AM – 2PM.

The morning show’s special guest contributor comedian Damon Williams will be hosting this year’s onsite back to school event. Damon Williams, seen as the host of several episodes of “It’s Showtime at the Apollo” and numerous times on “BET’s Comic View,” is considered one of the most elite up and coming comedians to hit the comedy circuit in a long time. He’s opened shows for some of the most popular artists in soul music including stars like Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Luther Vandross, Ray Charles, James Brown and Jamie Foxx. Williams is a regular weekly contributor to the TJMS bringing comedic observations on the funniest and most outrageous news stories of the day.

Mariah Carey Makes First Public Appearance Since Child Birth

Mariah Carey has been on hiatus since giving birth to twins Moroccan and Monroe on April 30. She was spotted heading home in Manhattan on Wednesday afternoon. She didn’t look bad at all, sporting a tee, black hoodie and big sunglasses to cover those eyes. Mariah can’t be getting much sleep with twins at home.

As you know HOT 102.7 broke the news that Lauryn Hill is expecting her sixth child with Rohan Marley but what is even more interesting is the terms of their relationship. Rohan Marley is still legally married to Geraldine Khawly, they have two children together daughter Eden and son Nicolas.

Although Rolling Stone confirmed this back in 2003 I find it INSANE that she is obviously okay with it since she is now pregnant once again with his child.

Then again if you remember Lauryn is no stranger to married men, as she was involved in an intimate with a married Wyclef Jean during the Fugees era.

Mother Gives Facebook Farewell Before Driving Children into Hudson River

Tragedy and social media collide as reports of a mother’s last call for redemption leaves members of her young family dead this week. 25-year-old LaShanda Armstrong reportedly drove her minivan filled with her four small children into the Hudson River earlier this week after posting a rather alarming farewell on her Facebook page.

In what appears to have been her final thoughts on the suicide attempt just 30 minutes before the incident occurred, Armstrong stated “I’m sorry everyone forgive me please for what I’m gonna do… This is it!!!”

All but one member of the young family were found dead on the scene after the vehicle sank and filled with water. The lone survivor, Armstrong’s 10-year-old son La’Shaun was left behind after escaping through a window. The young boy managed to swim to shore in nearby Newburgh, NY and lived to tell to police and reporters the story of what really happened in those critical moments before his mother and siblings drowned.
