We’re excited this month as we prep for one of the biggest annual events in gospel music. It’s the Stellar Awards – gospel music’s star-studded affair of recognition for top notch artists and up-and-comers held every year to celebrate their achievements. The voting process has changed over the last few years to allow the general public to have greater input in the nomination and voting setup.

This week, we are elated to officially inform all of you gospel music lovers that after the first round ballot voting for the 2011 Stellar Awards was extended to September 6, 2010 for all members of SAGMA, it is now just about that time for you all to do your part.

How so? The second and final rounds of voting will end on September 30, 2010. All voting takes place at the Stellar Awards website – TheStellarAwards.com.

Voting will be open to the public in the categories of “Artist of the Year,” “Song of the Year,” and “Gospel Announcer of the Year” from October 27-November 22, 2010. Here’s a look back at who you’ll see hanging out, performing or presenting on the main stage and behind the scenes at any Stellar Awards ceremony.

It’s one event you simply cannot miss. Roll up those sleeves and plug in your iPods and CD players then load ’em up with some of your favorites in gospel music as you make your vote. Who will win? We’ll just have to wait and see.

The 2011 Stellar Awards will convene on January 15, 2011 in Nashville, TN at the Grand Ole Opry.
