Study: 400,000 Congolese Women Raped Each Year

(via newsy.com) – 400,000. That is the number of women raped in the Democratic Republic of Congo each year. That means one woman is raped there nearly every MINUTE. The stunning statistics were published in a study by the American Journal of Public Health on Thursday. While the findings already top former estimates, the study’s lead author Amber Peterman tells The International Business Times the case might be even worse.
