It’s almost time for the Taste of Cincinnati. Yep, this weekend, folks from all over the city will gather for a grand occasion celebrating some of the best in culinary arts. Held annually since 1979 on Memorial Day weekend in downtown Cincinnati by The Downtown Council and the Greater Cincinnati Restaurant Association, the Taste of Cincinnati it is now the nation’s longest running culinary arts festival. Can you believe that one?
The fun is just beginning as members of the Radio One family stops by during the Taste of Cincinnati this weekend for quite a few special activities. We’ll be raising the praise and getting our groove on all day Saturday, May 29th at the Radio One Soundstage located at 5th and Sycamore Streets from 12 noon to 6:00PM. Yes, you heard us right, that’s six hours of great gospel music and your favorite R&B jams as you test out some good food and enjoy great fun this weekend. Here’s a little more details on the Radio One Soundstage lineup of musical guests you won’t want to miss.
For those of you ready to sing, shout and dance right along with us, you’ll be blessed by the voices of the Rockdale Baptist Praise & Worship Team, gospel rap artist Gary Ward, David Scott, the Northern Kentucky Brotherhood Singers, the anointed mime ministry of Ryane Wynn and the incomparable Cincinnati Super Choir under the direction of 1230AM WDBZ The Buzz on-air personality, P. Ann Everson-Price.
Join Cincinnati’s own Pastor Freddie T. Piphus and Pearl plus enjoy the musical stylings of 2nd Wind before you learn about the benefits of exercise through special presentations from the Carl Linder West End YMCA Rope Twisters and the College Hill Senior Steppers.
Additional guests will include The Anointed Sons of God and R.W. Hagins, Jr. & Co. You’ll want to be on time because gospel and inspirational performances will begin at 12 noon with nearly four hours of praise, worship and more.
If you’re interested in grooving with the livest R&B tunes, don’t forget about the special line dancing segment. Jam to all your favorite classic R&B songs and get a little bit more exercise in on this city-wide dance floor from 3:45PM to 6:00PM. We’ll be checking to see if you really know how to shuffle and make that foot work look good. So don’t get tired Cincinnati. Come with your dancing shoes on!

Grab a plate, grab a friend and get on down to the Taste of Cincinnati. Stop by the Radio One Soundstage for the praise party and learn some new moves as we line dance, too.
Members of the official WDBZ/MOJO (Radio One) Mass Choir will also hit the stage so if you’re singing, too, we want to hear from you. No matter what your favorite flavor of gospel, R&B or even all those special sauces on the chicken wings you’ll be eating this weekend, the Radio One family has you covered. Look out for your friends from 101.1 The Wiz, MOJO 100.3 and 1230AM WDBZ The Buzz all day long as we have some fun in the sun together. We’ll all be there, but will you?
