Cincinnati has gone 42 days without a homicide. According to an article on wlwt.com, This is the longest streak Cincinnati has gone without a homicide since 2000.  Some have said that the cold weather has been a factor, while Cincinnati detectives have given credit to city programs such as CIRV, Community Inititive To Reduce Violence, as well as Citizens on Patrol.  Is this something to be proud of? Are you ashamed that this is the longest streak without a homicide since 2000?  I wanna know, how long can we continue this streak? What are some unique and less obvious we can do to continue this streak? Write your comments below.

Well…..another reason for the reduced crime could be thanks to Cincinnati’s super hero : The Shadowhare! Have a great Thursday!

Lowering the homicicide rate is easy. First, the Cincinnati PD needs to do its job, when it comes to keeping guns off the street. When a gun is stolen, they take it very lightly. Generally, they do not waste one minute investigating burglaries, but when guns are stolen, they need to at least try to solve the robbery–take figerprints, boot prints, etc, and go after the suspects. The other obvious answer is jobs. Most people in this city are killed over money or drugs, and drugs translate to money. People need access to decent jobs that pay enough for day-to-day survival. People are turning to addiction out of desperation and hopelessness. People are making money the illegal way after just giving up on the idea that they will EVER be offered a decent job, or the training or education it would take to get one. Just starting with those two things will lower the homicides. We need jobs, and we need the police to do theirs.
