A Sunday church service in Richmond, California, erupted into chaos when three gunmen opened fire on congregants, injuring two teens, according to police.
Police headed to the New Gethsemane Church of God in Christ about 12:30 p.m. (3:30 p.m. ET), after three hooded men shot at churchgoers, Richmond police spokeswoman Bisa French told CNN.
“We’re not sure if those two victims were targeted, but someone definitely in that general area where the victims were, was targeted,” French said.
Police are unsure why the church, filled with more than 100 people, was attacked.
The male victims, ages 14 and 19, are expected to make full recoveries, French said.
The assailants were described as being in their late teens or early 20s, French said.
On the East Bay, Richmond is north of Berkeley, California.

After reading all the blogs around this town and now this from Cali, it is no wonder that the white community has taken a renew ‘hate’ against the black community. Everyday we have to hear about another black either murdering or wounding another black and in some cases, innocent people have lost their lives over something stupid. It is getting to the point where Black people will not have any place to go for entertainment nor will they be welcome to certain establishments. I for one am sick and tire of seeing a black male face plastered all over the TV for gunning down somebody over something petty. You would think that by now in the 21st century that our people would have gotten way farther in this town than where they are. Stop the excuses of not getting jobs because it was proven at the job fairs that we are employable if we have the education, experience, skills and the commonsense to actually get out and get the job instead of sitting on our behinds and complaining. The white community doesn’t see it as an individual act of violence, but they group all blacks as hostile and subhumans. We can move away and live in nice diversified communities and be friendly, but behind close doors, we still are known as people of violence. It needs to stop or else we will be right back where we started from and that’s trying to get respect.
