Ready For Legalized Marijuana in Ohio?

Two bills in the Ohio House could pave the way for legalization of Marijuana in the state.

Representative Bob Hagan introduced the measure, Thursday, that would legalize pot for medical and recreational uses.

The Youngstown democrat says a 15% tax on Marijuana could help fix the state’s budget.

Introduced Ohio Right To Work Bill Already D.O.A.

Ohio senate leaders say a right to work bill is not on their agenda.

Senate President Keith Faber effectively killed the measure, on Wednesday, just hours after it was introduced in the Ohio House.

The legislation would give employees the choice to reject union membership, without making fair share payments.

A Cleveland-based organization could attempt to force a public decision on Medicaid expansion in Ohio.

Governor John Kasich wants the dollars through the affordable care act, while Republicans in the legislature are opposed.

The enquirer reports that the center for community solutions could attempt a referendum, or a constitutional amendment vote.

The Hamilton store owner, who gunned down a would-be robber, won’t face charges.

Butler County prosecutors say a grand jury cleared Smail Gueddari, on Tuesday, calling that the shooting was justified.

Guderri killed 26 year-old Jeremy Irvin when the suspect threatened his wife with a gun during a hold-up.

Hamilton Child Sets Fire To Several Buildings

Hamilton police are deciding whether charges will be filed against an alleged eight year-old arsonist.

Police say the boy set fire in an alley off Campbell Avenue, Sunday, and watched it spread to seven structures, including two houses.

Witnesses say they stopped the child from setting a fire earlier in the day. No injuries were reported from the fire.

A report claims some Ohio judges are breaking the law when they jail poor people for failing to pay court fees.

The American Civil Liberties Union says municipal court judges are denying defendant’s rights by not granting hearings on their financial status.

The report singled out judges in three Northern Ohio counties, as the top offenders.

A Brown County couple is facing endangerment charges in the accidental shooting death of their son.

Chris and Shana Swartz are accused of leaving a gun within the reach of 9 year-old Sebastian Swartz in February.

The boy was shot, when his older sister tried to take the weapon away from him.

The speed limit is increasing for some Ohio highways.

Governor John Kasich signed the state’s road construction bill on Monday. The bill sets the speed limit on rural interstates at 70 MPH.

It also allows for the sale of more than one million dollars in bonds to fund highway projects.

Butler County Prosecutor Michael Gmosher has dismissed the mock fraud charges against weather-predicting groundhog Punxsutawney Phil.

Phil’s handlers said he failed to properly translate a prediction for an early spring.

Gmosher said he wanted to have fun with the forecast that called for snow before easter.
