Gold Medalist, Mary Wineberg, tells her story today on SisterSpeak at 5pm. This 2008 Gold Medal winner is preparing for Olympic Gold in the upcoming London Games.

Wineberg was an Olympic competitor in athletics at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. She competed in the 400m race and finished fifth in her semifinal, which did not qualify her for the final. However, Wineberg ran the first leg for the U.S. Women’s 4 x 400 metres relay team that won the gold medal at the Games .She is sponsored by Nike and participates in a work program with Home Depot. She is coached by Jim Schnur and her husband Chris Wineberg. (Wikipedia)

Utah School Deems Cougar Mascot Offensive to Women

Students in Draper, Utah voted for the town’s new high school mascot to be the Cougar.

But the school board overruled the vote saying that team symbol is offensive.
Not to the animal, but to older women.
