Cincinnati, guess what? It’s the weekend! We made it, but before you kick those shoes off and relax on the couch, let’s take a moment to thank God for the gift of laughter. There’s a scripture that comes to mind this morning. I’m smiling even as I type the passage of scripture found in Nehemiah 8:10 which says “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

What does it all mean? Quite simply, if you have no joy, you have no strength. If you have no joy, you cannot be excited, enthusiastic or elated about a given task, project or even an individual person. If there is no joy, there’s no room for laughter or happiness either. Therefore, your strength must somehow be directly influenced by the joy that comes from laughter.

Laughter is therapeutic. We’ve heard for so long that laughter is good for the soul. So, today, I feel like enhancing the strength of my soul by laughing and I want you to find out what’s so funny by clicking play on the video clip below.

This is something so sweet, so innocent and yet completely hilarious all at the same time. For those of us raised in the church, you will surely get a kick out of this sanctified, Sunday morning choral rendition of one of the biggest songs from the past year. It’s a perfect fit for the churchy “Single Ladies” (and their children) since this weekend we’re honoring mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, mentors and other leading ladies in our lives on Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 9th).

Click play and get ready to laugh today on Funny Friday. God bless you all and have a wonderful weekend. Happy Mother’s Day also to the sanctified “Single Ladies.” Post your comments and let us know how you’re kicking of your Mother’s Day Weekend celebrations below the video.
