American Idol Contestant Angela Martin Gets Second Chance

gallery_main-angela-martin-american-idolThis week, Simon Cowell sent American Idol contestant Angela Martin packing, ending her chance of being the next American Idol. But as the old saying goes, “as one door closes, another one opens”. It started off when she was a guest on the Ellen Degeneres show, and Ellen gave her some good news.

“Kara DioGuardi is going to write you a song. You’re going into a studio and she’s going to produce a song for you. We’re going to get you a record deal” Ellen said.

The 28-year-old Chicago native was offered the song and record deal after she tried — and failed — to make American Idol as a semifinalist for a third consecutive season. Angela faced many obstacles at home: from getting her daughter medical attention, to going to jail from unpaid parking tickets.

Today on the Yolanda Adams Morning Show, Yolanda even opened a new door for Angela as they were talking on the air. Check out the interview below.
