Cincinnati — The Cincinnati School Board voted Monday night to name the new building that will house the School for the Creative & Performing Arts after the late Erich Kunzel.
The building along Central Parkway in Over-the-Rhine will be called the Erich Kunzel Center for Arts and Education after the late Cincinnati Pops conductor.
Kunzel, who lost a cancer battle earlier this year was a staunch supporter of the school and helped raise millions for the new building.
In November, board members rejected a proposal to rename the school to the Kunzel School for Creative & Performing Arts.
