This is the most aggravating story in the news today and I cannot stop thinking about how exactly this has happened. Unfortunately, as you know, all summer long we’ve been seeing satellite cases across the nation of high volume bed bug infestation.

Today, news has spread (just like the bed bugs have done, too) that NYC is suffering from the rodents a lot more and a lot faster than we’ve ever seen reported.

Bed bugs forced Nike to close its flagship store in New York City. Isn’t that nuts? According to various reports on news stations and publications from the east coast, authorities said they don’t know how the bed bugs infested the store. (Be for real, y’all.) The problem was reportedly so severe, they had to close down everything. And rightfully so.

At the company headquarters in Beaverton, officials said exterminators were working on the problem and promised that Niketown will re-open soon. I highly doubt it, but what is really about to make me itch this morning is the fact that even though the building and the operations within it were shut down, had any of the merchandise or products already been sold with bed bugs in them? Who’s going to initiate that investigation? How does an outbreak like this happen when we’ve been hearing for months that there was a major issue with bed bugs in the area? And in New York City of all places!

Lord have mercy on us all who could possibly end up sporting Nike garb with a few extra little friends tagging along. This video explains in detail what the heck is really going on.
