The 2013 Women’s Empowerment kicked off Saturday at 8am at Duke Energy Center and started with a viewing of the P & G My Black is Beautiful film, “Imagine A Future”. The film followed young Janet Goldsboro, a teenager from Delaware, who is struggling to find her self worth. The film was uplifting and inspiring and set the tone for a day filled with self -defense and Zumba classes, cooking demonstrations with Klosterman’s, makeovers, Mani’s and Pedi’s, workshops on law, branding, identity theft, empowerment, DIY classes and more.
If you missed this year’s event, you missed Benzino, from Love & Hip Hop Atlanta hosting the Men’s Panel, rising recording star Mateo, and of course the talented, versatile, and beautiful Tracee Ellis Ross.
