President Obama gave a commencement speech at Morehouse College Sunday, encouraging graduates at the historically black school to be good role models and be responsible for members of their communities through jokes and personal reflections. He told the graduates,
“Some of you are graduating magna cum laude; I know that some of you are just graduating thank-you-laude.”
Mr. Obama is the first sitting president to give the commencement address at Morehouse College. Founded in 1867, the Atlanta school offers an all-male undergraduate education and lists civil rights leaders, like Dr. Martin Luther King, among its alumni.
