Ohioans are being urged to check their identity during tax season.
Ohio Attorney General, Mike DeWine, says criminals are looking to swipe tax refunds by using victim’s social security numbers to file fake returns. They’ve also posed as fake tax preparers.
DeWine says tax preparers should present the proper credentials, and people should never sign blank tax forms.
