Ohio Police officer, Mercer County Deputy Chad Fortkamp, is now accepting the responsibility for the death of his police k-9. The dog, Zak, was left in Fortkamp’s cruiser in the heat where he died of a pre-existing heart condition last week. Fortkamp reportedly left his dog in his hot car while finishing up some paperwork at the office. The K-9’s Unit  veterinarian said that even a healthy dog couldn’t have survived the heat.

Deputy Fortkamp was suspended 45 days without pay. Read More on this story HERE.
