Today marks the fifth day of Kwanzaa, the week-long celebration honoring universal African-American heritage and culture. Each day a different principle is observed. Yesterday was the observance of Ujamaa, to practive cooperative economics. Today the principle of Nia, which is Swahili for purpose, is observed. To learn more about this day, check out the video below.

Today is a perfect day to begin to understand and define your purpose. During the day, you should ask yourself, “What am I here to do and am i doing it?” Think about how much better and more meaningful your life will be when you are doing exactly what you were made and meant to do. When we understand more about our purpose and how to live it, we better ourselves and the people around us.

From all of us at 1230 The Buzz, we want to wish you a Happy Kwanzaa!
