Today, we highlight a local arts organization during Black History Month- Cincinnati Opera!
Cincinnati Opera is recognized nationally for its commitment to artistic excellence, diverse programming, and community engagement. It hosts programs such as “Opera Goes to Church” and “Porgy and Bess”. Cincinnati Opera has a long history of featuring African American singers in leading roles. In 2007, the company received a prestigious award from the NAACP for community outreach. This summer Cincinnati Opera presents: The American Masterpiece “Porgy and Bess” with music by George Gershwin.
