Democrats in the Ohio State Senate have selected Eric Kearney, as their new leader. Yesterday, in a unanimous vote, the democratic caucus selected the North Avondale senator as minority leader of the Ohio state senate.
Kearney, currently, has five committee appointments, but he has told the press he will step down so he can take on his new role.
Kearney is not the only local politician with a leadership role in the state senate. Tom Niehaus, of New Richmond, is the current senate president.
