Lawrence Bishop, 69, founding senior pastor of Solid Rock Church in Monroe, Ohio, died this weekend on Friday, September 30th in his home. According to the church’s website, Bishop was discovered unresponsive by his wife, Darlene, also a noted evangelist, late Friday evening just before midnight.
Bishop was transported to Atrium Medical Center and confirmed by doctors on site to have suffered a massive brain stem stroke.
Bishop leaves behind to mourn his passing his beloved wife, Darlene, son, three daughters and 10 grandchildren as well as two local congregations with over 3,000 members at both the main campus and south campuses of the Solid Rock Church ministries founded in 1978.
Visitation is currently scheduled for Lawrence Bishop for this Thursday, October 7th at Solid Rock Church from 5-9PM. Funeral services will be held Friday at 12 noon with Dwight Thompson, Pastor Rod Parsley and Steve Fender officiating also at the church located at 903 Union Road, Lebanon, Ohio 45036.
