Yes, you’ve heard the commercials and read the reports accurately! She’s back! We just knew our girl Lexi, gospel music entertainment reporter, would return to us soon.

She’s been gone most of the summer from the music and media side of the industry with the reported cancellation of her hit talk show “The Lexi Show.”

She’s back! We knew our girl Lexi, gospel music entertainment reporter, would return to us soon. She’s been gone most of the summer from the music and media side of the industry with the reported cancellation of her hit talk show “The Lexi Show.”

This month, Lexi has official resurfaced, but now she’s hitting the airwaves as a featured special reports correspondent on The Yolanda Adams Morning Show.

On Fridays, be sure to tune in and catch Lexi’s fresh segment “Inside Inspiration” where she’ll be talking about all that’s going on inside the gospel music industry. Look for Lexi to bring you the latest and the real deal whenever she’s on the air. Now in her second week of participation on the show, we’re expecting big things from our girl Lexi as she moves even closer to her destiny.

Keep On Pressing On

I have to remind myself that I am pressing on towards all that I know God has promised me. Even though some days are hard I know that I will survive. Each day has its set of challenges; I view them as hidden opportunities, because through it all, if nothing else, I feel/see personal growth/development from going through it.

I press on when I see others finding success, opportunity or breakthroughs…. Because I know in celebrating their blessing, I show God and myself that I don’t possess the spirit of envy or entitlement and will humbly appreciate and give credit to the one who deserves it, when I receive my blessing.

I press on even though I fight daily with various levels of insecurities. One day I’m not confident in my skills/gifts. Another day, I’m not confident in my looks. And, another day, I’m not confident in ANYTHING. But, I press on because God reminds me that I am beautifully and wonderfully made. And, that He hasn’t brought me this far to leave me now.

One of my favorite scriptures is Jeremiah 29:11. We are always quick to quote, shout, claim it and recite, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” And, although we should rest our faith on that promise….we need to understand the story of Jeremiah and the process he went through in order to really appreciate how he was finally able to declare those words. I was given this perspective in a sermon.

Jeremiah was not confident in his ability to fulfill the assignment God had for him…he was insecure and allowed those insecurities to cause him to doubt God’s will and stop him from walking in his destiny.

But, here is the reminder; God places you where He does because you are assigned to it and in being assigned you are well-equipped to accomplish the task. Even when the obstacle comes, don’t view it as a sign that you should not do what you are doing, on the contrary, view it as confirmation that you ARE doing what you are divinely designed to do.

For the adversary is trying his best to illuminate your insecurities in an effort to stop you in your tracks….for he knows what God knows….that your accomplishments will bless many and God will be glorified.

So, press on towards the promise. And, watch God not only show up, but show OUT!

Lucinda Moore is “Fire Baptized”

Gospel music breakthrough artist Lucinda Moore has quietly paid her dues over the years singing from her soul with a powerful soprano range and an special anointing on her gift. She’s one of those artists you can’t get enough of once you’ve heard her begin to tell her testimony.

For years Lucinda Moore admittedly blamed herself for her father’s untimely death. For a period, the singer even suffered from low self-esteem, the trauma of being molested as a teenager and endured a rocky marriage for 16 years just because she wanted to be loved by someone the way that she recalls her father used to love her. How many women do you know in your life who’ve experienced that same emotion?

Today, Moore’s actively proclaiming that she has indeed been “Blessed, Broken & Given” (Tyscot Records) with her brand new album and the official title cut on the sophomore CD.

“This is my testimony of what God did for me,” Moore confesses. “He’s blessed me with a voice but He had to break some things in me in order for me to be given to the nation. I had to go through some stuff to help somebody else. “

Musically, Lucinda Moore is known for her 2006 breakthrough solo smash “Pressure Into Praise” as well as her cameo appearances on Hezekiah Walker’s evergreen “When We Get Over There,” the vamp of Tramaine Hawkins’ electrifying “Lift Me Up,” and the GMWA Women of Worship Choir’s classic “I Surrender My All.”

Her latest project “Blessed, Broken & Given” debut at #13 on the Billboard’s Gospel Charts and is currently gaining momentum all over the country. Hot off the press and blazing up the airwaves, here’s something no other media outlet has achieved. As you know, the entire gospel music industry is grieving the loss of our legendary singer/songwriter Bishop Walter L. Hawkins this week.

Calls, comments, concerns and condolences have poured in like never before as special guests prepare their hearts and minds for his upcoming funeral services and musical tributes in California.

Today, gospel diva Vickie Winans, who just hours ago ended her week filling in for on-air personality/national recording artist Lonnie Hunter on Philadelphia’s inspiration station – Praise 103.9 and PraisePhilly.com, snagged the official first live interview with Tramaine Hawkins.

Lady Tramaine Hawkins was Bishop Walter L. Hawkins‘ vocal muse, ex-wife and is also the mother of his children in mourning. This might be emotional just as expected, but here’s the exclusive interview which took place just moments ago live on the air.

21:03 Holds It Down

Meet 21:03 - a group of young men you must get to know in the music business.

Gospel industry colleagues, best friends and brothers in Christ, and namely Jo’rel, Evin and Torrence, were originally handpicked and later creatively nurtured by another famous face in gospel music. Their musical mentor, head of production, contributing songwriter and contemporary worship artist in his own right, J. Moss of the famed Detroit-based production team PAJAM, is one of few who developed a better understanding of their collective vocal gifts in Christ almost to perfection.

Maybe that’s that word we’re looking for today. Perfection. In music, they represent the perfect blend of urban, pop and gospel plus a few additional servings of teen heartthrob R&B. Knowing that there is no such thing in the kingdom of God besides the Creator being perfect in all His ways, the young men comprised of 21:03 show that perfection can be heard in their voices, their arrangements and their desire to excel for the kingdom.

If you’re wondering what the name means, their moniker embodies their collective fates. Realizing their growth and maturity in their faith and as performers, the brothers of 21:03 soon came to discover that three passages taken from the beginning, middle and the end of the Bible – Genesis, Psalms and Revelation 21:3, respectively – provided a deeper look into their mission.

These same near-prophetic verses reinforced within Jo’rel, Evin and Torrence that their purpose wasn’t to just sing, dance or entertain. Instead, it’s to actually minister and impart truth to anyone with ears to hear. Therefore, allowing the threesome to make a lasting impression if they really held on to God’s unchanging hand.

Speaking of holding on and holding it down, I picked up my copy of 21:03‘s most recent project Total Attention released nearly two years ago and rediscovered my love and appreciation for their innovation and growing vocal prowess. Here’s the sleeper hit from the album called “Holding On.” The song further displays that if we hold onto God’s promises, there’s nothing we can’t do. So let’s all keep “Holding On” together. A Moment with Kirk Franklin

This morning we were listening to our good friend Kirk Franklin chat with Tom Joyner and the crew from the Tom Joyner Morning Show about something exciting he’s been up to lately.

Just last month, we announced to you all that Kirk Franklin would be releasing his new spiritually based self-help book “The Blueprint” and guess what? That same book is now a New York Times best-seller already!
